The San Joaquin Valley Rangers (SJVR) offers up to two (2) educational scholarships in the amount of up to $1,000 per person depending on funds available. Eligible recipients are a graduation high school senior or individual 18 years or older who is pursuing any field of study and will be attending a 4 year, 2 year or vocational school.
Submission Instructions:
The Scholarship Application Packet to be submitted for scholarship award consideration consists of:
1. The Scholarship Application
2. One essay
3. Letters of recommendation
4. Copy of grade transcripts (graduating high school seniors) for the past 2 years
The Application Packet will be accepted between March 15th and April 15th (postmarked dates) of the current year. The application packet needs to be mailed to: Secretary, SNR., PO Box 31074, Stockton, CA 95213. To be considered for a Scholarship award, applicants must complete the Application as instructed, attach all required materials and submit within the listed postmark dates.
Scholarship Award Selection Criteria:
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on their community service, financial need, quality of character, academic performance, potential to achieve stated goals, involvement with equines and participation in SJVR and other equine events.
Award Distribution:
Scholarship applicants will be notified no later than June 15th of the current year. If selected for a scholarship, the recipient must show proof of enrollment in a 4 year, 2 year or vocational school to receive the scholarship money. Scholarship money awarded must be used within 12 months of award, or the award monies will be forfeited unless approved by the general membership or board of directors.
